Too bad Cuccinelli lost night. The Politco story is actually - TopicsExpress

Too bad Cuccinelli lost night. The Politco story is actually pretty good analysis of the Virginia race. While the story from Politco is good the county-by-county results and map is quite interesting. To me it shows that McAuliffe may have a bigger battle ahead as he did not win a resounding mandate. The most striking thing is despite having $15 million more than Cuccinelli and the press did in his coffers, Cuccinelli almost beat McAuliffe. This was suppose to be 7-12 point win for McAuliffe. Some of the gold standard polls were off by a wide margin, though technically just barely within their margin for error. I also think Chris Cristies NJ win is a bigger harbinger for Democrats than the Dems realize or at least are willing to say. No one really knows if Cristies politics is with RINOs or the Democrats. Cristie is governor of a very Democrat state, and likely has to pick his battles wisely. Even if he is less RINO than he sometimes appears, it is of benefit to him to at least appear tolerant of national Democrat leaders. It appears that strategy paid off last night in NJ. The big question is whether that strategy can be modified to pull in conservative votes in a national election. But there are a lot of ice ages between now and 2016. Heck, there are probably 2 ice ages between now and 2014 mid-terms, though the negative impacts of ObamaCare could prove to be major impact on the mid-terms. politico/2013-election/results/governor/virginia/
