Took Aussie for a walk tonight. Was walking around the lake and saw a lady enter the park with 2 little dogs. She had stopped with her dogs and I thought perhaps she was waiting for me to go past with Aussie so on we walked. As I got nearer to her, one of her dogs, which was not on a leash, came running at Aussie and jumped on his head. Aussie is usually very good with other dogs so I thought nothing of it when the dog ran over but next minute the lady is yelling out sorry, sorry and then there is growling.....my Aussie is growling.....oh boy, here we go. So, I am pulling him and trying to turn him around to take his attention away all the time calling his name (as we are taught in dog training) but this bloody little dog kept coming. Feisty little blighter. Anyway now they are both growling and I am dragging Aussie like mad. Finally got him away and settled and then yelled back at the woman asking if she was OK and if the dog was OK. She responded yeah, he (her dog) was being silly and trying to assert himself. Hmmmmm, I felt really bad but was I in the wrong? Was Aussie in the wrong? NO!!!! My dog was on a lead!!!! My dog didnt run over to another dog and jump on its head. However, had something bad happened, who would have been the bad dog? Aussie. Why??? Coz he is the big vicious Am Staff (supposedly) and the annoying dog was a little yappy thing NOT ON AN EFFING LEAD.,,,,,so pissed off now. Be responsible people. KEEP YOUR DOGS ON LEADS unless in parks where its allowed. Then at least we are all prepared that dogs may run up to us. Oh yeah, and little dogs can be just as aggressive as big dogs, sometimes more so. Super peeved, super angry at what may have been......OK rant over.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
