Took my Scarlet (Mazda) to the dealership and was told it was an oxygen sensor that was causing the engine light to come on. However, they found others that according to them need replacing, water pump belt, serpentine belt, BG power steering fluid needs to be flushed/exchanged, air filter, oil pan was leaking but not a drip yet, seal/oil pan and then there was the general diagnostic -all of it costing $1324+. The brakes are in very good condition considering the 13 years Scarlet had been driven. I cringed of course but after considering that in the 13 years that we had the vehicle and no major expense arising from the operation and even the Mazda guys saying its in a good condition, I thought $100 a year for 13 years is not bad. Am trying to see the positive instead of the negative!!
