Top 25 Metal Albums of 2014: #14 - The Skull - For Those Which Are Asleep Typically, when a band splits in two and you get two versions of it, the results are that one band floats and the other sinks. There is another rarely seen possible outcome though and that is you end up with two great bands instead of one. This pretty much all started when Trouble tried to get the old band going again with Simple Mind Condition, but that one turned out to be a poorly received mistake of an album. After that, Trouble found a worth vocalist in Kyle Thomas and put out the kick ass album, The Distortion Field. But what about Eric Wagner and Jeff Olson? Well, they recruited ex-Trouble member Ron Holzner and others to make The Skull and wouldnt you know it? The album is a kick ass slice of doom. Everything pretty much worked out in the end here.
