Topic: HARNESSING GODS GLORY UPON YOUR LIFE Text: And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (John 17:22). INTRODUCTION The word, Glory, means, fame or honour, or taking pride in something; or source of pride. Its the quality of being magnificent. This is while Jesus Christ said, And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (John 17:22). This message will briefly x-ray how to harness Gods glory upon our lives. 1. You are called to glory, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2 Peter 1:3). 2. The God of glory will appear to you, pray to Him, And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, (Acts 7:2). 3. Give God glory first for His blessings upon you, then your glory will surface, And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. (Luke 17:17-18). 4. Speak of God and His Word. Preach Gods righteousness through Christ, dont preach yourself, He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousnessis in him. (John 7:18). 5. You must be patient and do good to get glory, To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: (Romans 2:7). EXAMPLES OF THOSE WHO HARNESSED GLORY IN THE BIBLE 1. Jesus, And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (John 17:22). 2. Jacob, And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory. (Genesis 31:1). 3 Joseph, And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither. (Genesis 45:13). 4. The Israelites, And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us? And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD. (Exodus 16:7-8). And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. (Exodus 16:10). 5. Aaron, And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. (Exodus 28:2). HOW TO RETAIN THE GLORY 1. Confess your sins to retain His glory always,And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. (Joshua 7:19). 2. Through sanctification,And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office. (Exodus 29:43-44). 3. Preserve and protect the ark, Gods Presence in your life, And she named the child I-chabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband. (1 Samuel 4:21). 4. Declare His glory to the unsaved and even the saved, Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. (1 Chronicles 16:24). 5. Dont provoke His glory, For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory. (Isaiah 3:8). CONCLUSION When glory is absent, groaning in life is inevitable. We need His glory to cover us from all satanic marks, Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. (Isaiah 60:1)... The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (Isaiah 60:13).
