Topic : Hendra Virus Vaccine. I know this topic is driving everyone with concerns to the point of insanity.. and nightmare within cost etc... More I spoked to horse people and more I thought on this and my thoughts on the authorities. Today it not just the horses - it also applies to dogs,could even be cats (who knows) I feel there isnt enough research on this viruses, and now they have come up with some vaccines in such short time and this is what concerns me the most, as some many years ago there was huge case on Nile River viruses affecting horses, authorities came up with some vaccines and this has caused major side effects within foals so severely deformed especially to broodmares being vaccinated. Why Cant the Government come up with vaccines to the Bats ????? (the scout bats culling) is one answer as farmers of many years used to do this - shoot the scout bats so they dont bring along their herds..) Government support fox baiting ... doesnt make sense... Instead of targeting horse owners with extra expenses and worrying of side effects (as it is early days of this vaccine)... Ongoing costs alone in the horse industry is getting beyond some jokes.. Tick spraying, insurances cost, travel expenses,(fuel hike), camping fees, facilities fees, stable fees, now Are they going to/or expecting hendra vaccines proof upon show entry? or maybe some fee charged for the hendra viruses. Sadly, instead of uniting the Horse Industry togetherness, Shows and events soon will wilthering away over period of the future.... Very Sad.
