Totally relate to What Its Like to be Ambiguously Ethnic. I have had people attempt to speak Farsi and Armenian. These are people from Syria and Armenia. My last name always throws telemarketers for a loop (I think they are actually getting better with it) People have guessed every country from the middle-east, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. I have been asked point blank What are you? by people Rarely the correct boxes for me to choose. I am half Mexican, quarter Italian, and quarter Irish.
