Town of Shelby folks and anyone who cares about the Iroquois - TopicsExpress

Town of Shelby folks and anyone who cares about the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge (INWR); Its time to PUT UP OR SHUT UP. The NYSDEC has accepted Frontier Stones Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and they are holding a PUBLIC HEARING on April 30th at 6:00 p.m. in the Shelby Town Hall. They will receive public comment on the 274 acre stone quarry proposed by Frontier Stone to be located directly north and adjacent to the wildlife refuge. I have a copy of the full DEIS document and can get it to you if you would like to review it. The DEC is also accepting written comment up until May 12, 2014. Now is the time to get off the couch, get off the fence, and decide where you stand on this issue. I will be updating this post daily as I come across portions of the DEIS that are erroneous or just outright lies. I will be presenting my comments on the 30th and again in writing. BUT WE NEED WARM BODIES IN THE SEATS, AND IN THE AISLES, and STANDING ROOM ONLY IN THE PARKING LOT, AT THE TOWN HALL ON THE 3OTH. THE DEC HAS NEVER TURNED DOWN A MINING APPLICATION IN NYS HISTORY. Lets be the first.
