Trams to roll again within weeks Power lines are being reinstalled on a Christchurch tram line circuit over the next week and the famous trams are scheduled to operate after Labour Weekend after an almost three-year absence since the February 2011 quake. The Press reports that the reopened tramlines will offer a limited service that will go through New Regent St, through Cathedral Junction, the Square, down Worcester Blvd and to the Canterbury Museum and back.
