Travelling home from London on the train this afternoon was grim! - TopicsExpress

Travelling home from London on the train this afternoon was grim! Stifling hot with no windows open, crowded with people, and opposite sat a kid of around 9 or 10 yrs old with not even the most basic manners. He was obviously unwell with a cold (so what was he doing on a daytrip to London spreading his germs anyway?) noisily snorting back his snot and sneezing into the open carriage without even putting his hand over his mouth or turning his head away. His father, sitting next to him, put his own hand up to cover the boy’s mouth once or twice, which I found extraordinary! The boy was playing on his tablet and could speak and engage clearly, so no way was he unable to act for himself. He’d also taken his trainers off and had his feet up against the carriage wall, constantly touching the lady’s legs in front of him. She kept shifting uncomfortably in her seat, but the boy still managed to locate her legs, totally oblivious to her irritation. They also got off at my station and we drove past them in the car on our way home, but Roy sped up as we passed them, so I don’t think the man heard me shout: “teach your kid some social etiquette and bloody manners!” – Shame . . .
