Tried Icebergs a couple hours ago with my mom. I am a food enthusiast so I love trying new places and new things, especially desserts. And since its a local business, I definitely wanted to see what the fuss was about. Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the owner (very sweet) and asked how we were, got to sample several different flavors before deciding. My mom chose to get dark chocolate gelato with strawberry Italian ice and I got the best seller which is the salted caramel gelato and green apple Italian ice. $6 each, 2 scoops of Italian ice and 1 scoop of gelato. Now I have heard a lot of complaints about the price and portion but let me just say that the cups are much bigger in person than in a photo! And the scoops are big also. She goes from the back of the container all the way to the front for one scoop and even goes back a few more times to add on. Maybe this varies upon scoop but this was how it was for us. 1 scoop of gelato is $4 or 2 scoops is $6 which is ultimately cheaper to get 2 scoops in my opinion. There are different combinations and the price will vary depending on what you want. But it really was good! The gelato is soft and creamy and the Italian ice has a really nice texture. I have never had gelato or Italian ice and I thought maybe the Italian ice was similar to shaved ice but its really a totally different texture. Its harder than shaved ice but really good. I definitely recommend everyone to try it if you havent already. I will definitely be going back for more! Located at 110 Glenn Ave in Trussville right behind Sonic.
