Trinidad artist David Moore was a keen observer of Port of Spain’s late transport system of trolleybuses which operated between 1941 and 1956. In this video David shares his personal experiences with trolleybuses and talks about his art creations on the subject. Trinidad Trolleybus History: On 12 December 1939 Trinidad Electricity Board ordered 14 trolleybuses from Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies in Ipswich, England. The vehicles arrived in 1940 and were numbered 1-14. The first trolleybus line opened along Mucurapo Road and Ariapita Avenue on 1 October 1941. In 1942 two more units, Nos. 15 & 16, were acquired and between 1946 and 1947 fourteen more trolleybuses arrived, 17 to 30.
