Trip was ok, lotsa rain everywhere.....I still drove 3505 miles, gone 13 days, visited 15 states, ( I now have been in all 48 states in my lifetime, another goal) the main goal of this trip was to go to Maine to Acadia natl park. I stopped at Cuyahoga natl park just south of Cleveland, looked just like Indiana so I wasnt to excited abt it, basically a ski area. went to Niagra falls next in N.Y. and Ft. Niagra......then on across the state to Ft. Ticonderoga, a before the rev war fort. Visited a Billings Rockefeller natl historical park in Vermont, hiked abt 4 m there, drove on across Vermont to N.H. visited another natl something, I cant even spell it. the colors in Vermont wasnt bad but I was off a little for peak, nh was the same. Going up into Maine was pretty nice color altho I was told I missed peak by couple weeks, got to Acadia on a mon afternoon, hiked abt 4 m then, tues was rain all day so rode shuttle buses that day, wed I hiked to top of their highest point (1500) ft then hiked back down other side of the mtn, abt 7 miles that day. Went on down and saw Plymouth Rock, then to Valley Forge in Pa., Gettysburg, Pa, another small town in Va where some of my ancestors came from. I drove the skyline drive thru Shenandoh natl park, 105 miles at 35 mph,....all but abt 10 miles was rain, wind, fog, fog,fog. weather prediction said 3 more days of rain.....I decided to skip a few places I had seen before and drove home in the rain. I found lotsa color from Lexington, Va all the way to ky line on route 64. I saw a lot of country and my opinion is that Brown Co rates right up with the big boys for color, ya cant beat it. got home wed eve, yesterday cleaned out car, texture spackled one of my walls I staired at for 3 wks before trip, got tractor started, installed new washer. this morning I painted the wall I textured yesterday..............I told work I wanted the whole month off...Im not tellin im bak til next wk ....son and grandson moved out just a couple days before I left so back to bein alone again. gotta stay busy.............
