Troopers spread Christmas joy to Valley children in foster care on Saturday. The effort, called Santa’s Uniformed Elves, was spearheaded by Trooper wives who worked with the Office of Children’s Services and identified in-need children, collected donations, bought the presents and wrapped them for uniformed troopers to personally deliver to 11 children on Saturday. Presents that were handed out to children ranging in ages from an infant to a 16-year-old were Chapstick to a toy kitchen and McDonald’s gift certificates. The Troopers were grateful for the opportunity to participate to make a difference in the lives of children that may have previously had a different sort of interaction with law enforcement. The families with children in their care were overwhelmed with gratitude.
