Tues. 9/2/14 6am: HAZY, HOT, & HUMID TODAY. MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM OR TOO THIS AFTERNOON OR TONIGHT. SUMMER STICKING AROUND THROUGH SATURDAY. Today: Patchy fog early this morning will give way to mostly sunny skies through early afternoon. Temps will heat up into the upper 80s to near 90 this afternoon. On top of that, humidity will be high, so expect uncomfortable conditions outdoors. There may be a brief thunderstorm or two during the mid-afternoon hours, any of which could dump some heavy rain, but most likely, well remain dry through the afternoon. The main chance for thunderstorms will come well after dark as the actual cold front approaches. If these storms hold together, they could be loud with heavy rain & vivid lightning (10pm-2am). Ill have updates/alerts ahead of any strong thunderstorms. Beyond: Once the cold front pushes through tonight, there will be a decrease in humidity, but temps will remain warm through the rest of the week. I expect lots of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 80s. (Lows: 55-65) Friday will be the hottest day with temps possibly approaching 90, and thatll come with an increase in humidity. A powerful cold front will approach late Saturday, bringing a good chance of thunderstorms. Itll be warm & humid out ahead of the front and conditions may be favorable for some severe weather. Ill keep a close eye on that. Behind the front, well feel a decrease in humidity AND heat, so well transition to a more September-like pattern by Sunday.
