Tuesday, May 6, 2014 Don’t Be Greedy “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:1-4) Prayer Point In the name of Jesus, I destroy the spirit of covetousness that produces a personality of greed. I confront and disarm the personality of greed and remove all the residue and traces of greed in my members. Greed will make me a servant to mammon and I cannot serve mammon and God. I choose to serve God with my time, my resources and my life. In the name of Jesus and by the supreme sacrifice of the Cross of Christ, I command my immediate release from any indebtedness that has resulted 119 from engaging in activity associated with greed and selfishness in my business practices, my financial planning, my partnerships or even my service and giving in the House of God. I realize that God never intended for us to have personal enrichment at the expense of someone else’s suffering. Greed always results in the suffering of the innocent. According to Ecclesiastes 5:19, God will give me riches and permit me to enjoy my portion. I commit to give God His portion because I don’t want the results of my labor to be what is written in Ecclesiastes 6:2 – that greed will result in riches that I will not be able to enjoy, but someone else will enjoy the fruits of my labor.
