Two Jailed for Possession of Human Parts ilorin.info/fullnews.php?id=11384 An Ilorin Chief Magistrates Court has sentenced two suspects, Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan of Tabera village in Kwara State to four years imprisonment for possession of human parts. The prosecutor, Matthew Shaye told the court that on July 23, the case was transferred from Okuta Divisional Police Headquarters to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Ilorin. He said during investigation, it was gathered that the suspects conspired, went to their village burial ground and exhumed the corpse of one Kondekuro Nee Adama, who was buried four months earlier. He added that the suspect removed the head, hands and legs of the deceased for ritual purposes. One of the suspects, Amos Kareem confessed that Abubakar Ladan told him that one Mallam Jibril was in need of human parts and promised to give them a car and motorcycle if they could get them. The second accused also confessed that they went into the crime to make money, as according to him, they have no means of livelihood, the prosecutor said. The suspects who were arraigned on a two count charge of criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of human parts contrary to Sections 97 and 219 of the Penal Code, pleaded guilty to the offence and the Magistrate, K.A.
