Two men are due to appear in Bankstown Local Court today charged with kidnapping and firearm offences. The men were stopped at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Miller Road, Bass Hill, about 12.30am today (Monday 16 June 2013). They were arrested by detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command who have been investigating two reported kidnappings of two men, aged 27 and a 29, in December 2013 and on 13 June 2014. The pair was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged. The 34-year-old man was charged with special aggravated kidnapping occasioning actual bodily harm (two counts). The 27-year-old was charged with special aggravated kidnapping occasioning actual bodily harm, dealing in the proceeds of crime, possess prohibited drug, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, detain in company to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm and possess unauthorised pistol. Both men were refused bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 16 June 2014).
