Two men have been charged over alleged intimidation and firearm related offences near Muswellbrook at the weekend. About 5pm on Saturday (24 May 2014), a 52-year-old man was at his home in Stewarts Brook, when two men, aged 41 and 37, allegedly drove past the property several times and threatened him. The 52-year-old man later reported the incident to police. About 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday 25 May 2014), officers attached to Hunter Valley Local Area Command attended another home in Stewarts Brook, where they executed a search warrant. Police searched a caravan on the property and allegedly located a bolt action rifle and ammunition. Officers also located an amount of cannabis in the home, which was seized for further examination. A 41-year-old man and 37-year-old man were both arrested at the property and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station. The older man was charged with intimidation, while the younger man was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding a licence and goods in custody suspected of being stolen. Both men were granted conditional bail to appear before Scone Local Court on Thursday 19 June 2014.
