Two teenage perpetrators were arrested in Charlottesville, Va., on Aug. 27 after an attempted robbery landed the two in the hospital. The teens attempted to arm rob two University of Virginia students, but the students fought back and held their assailants in custody until police arrived on scene. Johnny Calderon Junior, 19, and Gerald Allen, 18, were charged with two counts of attempted robbery—one for pointing a firearm, and another for using a firearm. When the alleged robbers went before a judge, Allen could barely open his eye because it was so badly swollen. Calderon Junior also suffered severe injuries, but both perpetrators are expected to make a full recovery.
