Two things. 1. Beneficiaries who basically have it together - and who want to work should be able to choose their job and/or career path. 2. The $80 maximum threshold earnings (then 0.70 taken off each 1.00 of the benefit) should be raised - or even better in this climate of casualisation and short-term employ - abolished - and beneficiaries should be allowed to earn as much as they can - The lousy $200 dole payment is a top up. Agree? I know there are other issues to consider - but - lets face it, political parties are doing VERY LITTLE to improve the lot of low income & poor folks.
