Typhoon Yolanda (internationally known as typhoon Haiyan) swept - TopicsExpress

Typhoon Yolanda (internationally known as typhoon Haiyan) swept through the central Philippines on 8 November 2013. Thus far, it is the most powerful typhoon the world has seen since 1979 and 24th typhoon to hit the Philippines during 2013. The five provinces directly affected and where Yolanda made landfall were Eastern Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Iloilo and Palawan. We are now at a turning point as we go from the immediate emergency phase to longer term recovery. One year after, the majority of people affected have already begun their own recovery process with limited resources. The Red Cross program help people build back better, and strengthen community resilience. #ayearafterhaiyan
