UNCUT!!! Short film made during a airsoft skirm at Balls and Arrows in Lelystad. It was a nice day with lots of mud and a high humidity content in the air :) In the morning we played a simple game. The Red team, us, had taken two people hostage, the hostages possessed information on valuable boxes (Victory points) located in the forest. We had to get the information and retrieve the boxes. Blue forces were there to prevent us from taking the boxes and had the objective to free the hostages. Unable to free the hostages, but very able to keep Red completely checked in the fort, the morning ended in a 0-0. The afternoon mission was the same, but of course the team changed side. So Red was freeing hostages and blue was searching boxes. One small change was the fact that we knew where the hostages were located. Beside that, the marshals asked for command volunteers. Somewhere after a stalemate around the half way mark (a big clear road through the forest), Red started a persistent push towards the Blue forces. One of the fights was a flanking move from the right side of the field along the perimeter. The small band of ragtag soldiers made a valiant effort (and succeeded) towards the fort located deep in Blue forces starting area. After watching this film I noticed a few minor faults in my commanding skills. First, shout simple things but be specific. So Go Go Go is good, but hurry up followed by wait is not so good. So make sure you say, keep distance between each other (repeat every hop) and GO GO GO. Second, I should take cover like most of the people around me do, just for the sake of living a few seconds longer. Thirdly, even with strangers you can have a lot of fun and accomplish a good deal, if you just work together.
