UNMASKING THE MOOD “People rely on style more often than on meaning.” --Benjamin Profandas, Hollywood hairdresser Sir : friend, if you prefer you asked me if I care about world affairs here is a brief answer -- between our thinnest skin and this world of spin we are masquerading noble faces, soft-sprayed with pulchritude & mood... why? because “life is good” swarthy, smartly spreeing xtraordinary beings rushing about our tasks : money, fashion & masks-- mastering how to steer through prime social layers continuing a climb up to the highest limb until we think weve caught a something weve not got endlessly legal-bound sighted to whats around donning & doffing caps burying heads in apps improvisational spotty conversations never fully relaxed but clear what naught to ask describing spa sessions & spouses professions how many kids and pets... any in college yet ? or happen a new friend a pick and choose christian who dabbles in zen some embarks on latest trends sometimes get together providing good weather for walks through lovely parks where never a dog barks pinnacle neighborhood securitys that good ! a few things hinted at that cannot be printed showing a braver sight than what is felt inside private moods undisclosed just medications used still, smiling & waving “you too--have a nice day!” *** *** *** *** by now you get the drift simple and uplifting -- no essential questions : “what quest are you on?” “when will your invention be the earths possession?” “how many words you say you had written today?” ...avoiding hints of god-- worse--fears of getting old gripping the mask so it wont slip...and show bits of ourselves that we cant bring ourselves to confront... such as these little cracks right here on the surface and all the rest of what we have learned to shut out... worries about finance loud political rants wars of need, wars of greed sprouting new lethal seeds always groping for news from a gossipers view even hedging our bets- braced for whats coming next yes, it is all right here but will it pass through fear ? and if things did improve would that be enough proof ? *** *** *** *** anyway, not to be assigned future gloomy -- heres a salute to you & anything you do ! raise your cup & savor ! live a rich life, favor a perpetuity of ingenuity & new agility with your abilities ! signing off my friend ~ yours Gustaf Wendt .
