UPDATE 2 | TROPICAL DISTURBANCE WP05 (INVEST 94W) | 7AM THURSDAY, 15 MARCH 2014 ManilaTC is keeping a close watch on the Tropical Disturbance located in the vicinity the Marshall Islands, which has steadily tracked West towards the Micronesian Island Chain. Disturbance WP05 (INVEST 94W) was last located at 4.7°N, 164.3°E... about 710 km East-Southeast of Pohnpei Island. A circulation centre remains to be seen although cloud cover remains good all through out. Computer forecast models are quite consistent and aggressive in forming this area into a Tropical System in the coming days. Long range tracks going into 7-10 day period show the potential system tracking south of Guam, passing near Yap and Palau and a potential Philippines strike. Note: Given the long range nature of the forecast and how the models initialize the system, this forecast remains uncertain.
