UPDATE On July 24th, my wonderful friend will be giving her kidney to a complete stranger!!! The stranger lives in Chicago. The donor is a friend from Ohio whom happen to read a Facebook plea for help. It all started earlier this year. An Illinois mother and friend of mine had posted that her time is running out and that she will not make it to receive her long awaited kidney if she doesnt find a donor quickly. Her doctors have told her that shes a ticking time bomb. She resorted to posting a plea on Facebook, asking for anyone to come forward to kindly share their spare. I shared her Facebook post to my wall. A friend of mine from Ohio read my post and called me the next day, stating that she could not sleep after reading this story. She said, many are praying for this poor woman, but nobody is stepping up to the plate to save her life. She then told me that she is being compelled to strongly consider giving a kidney. I truly couldnt believe my ears. I thought to myself, this woman doesnt even know this person needing the organ, yet she wants to save the life of a stranger?!! Whats more, this lovely ANGEL, named Kellie Ray Lonchar, has not had an easy go herself. She is a single mother of three grown sons. When they were very small, Kellies husband died being one of the very early known cases of the west nile virus. She has successfully raised her three boys on her own, being quite the hero already. When I posted the possibility of this happening many months ago, I received such lovely posts, prayers, inboxes and phone calls regarding this story. I assured those that asked that I would post an update when things became more real. Whelp, its now real. The surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, July 24th at Loyola Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Again, your prayers for both Kellie (donor) and Michelle Chellie (recipient) are welcomed and so appreciated!! Kellie Ray Lonchar will be in the hospital for a day or so following the procedure. She will be recuperating at my home, where I intend on spoiling her rotten!!!! I thank you all (in advance) for your prayers for both of these amazing, STRONG women.
