UPDATE: Posted by my husband and thought I would share. We are truly so thankful and feeling blessed!: Yesterday they moved Mum to Northeast Rehabilitation on Brighton Avenue in Portland. This was a bit ahead of when we had anticipated, but she was doing well and off she went. I guess they needed the bed for sick people. Anyhow, Leisa and I visited for a little while after supper last night (Friday), and the progress continues to be remarkable. She has regained most of the strength and some dexterity in her right hand. She can stand, with assistance, and really continues to amaze us just a few short days after this stroke. She still continues to have poor vision in her right eye, and some word scrambling. When she gets tired that worsens, but none of the drooping face or other things one would associate with a stroke. Obviously shes very tired, has little energy, and has had a major cerebral event. Still, the progress continues to be genuinely remarkable. Her husband Dale was there as well, and he seems to be in good spirit and health despite the enormous stress and toll this has to be taking on him. I took some time and read many of your comments to her. She was so very happy to know that youre praying for her and keeping her in your thoughts. I believe she is drawing much strength from your love. Of course, its much too early for visitors or even a lot of phone calls. Our family is trying to stagger their visits so as not to overwhelm or exhaust her. However, a card or note is always welcome and VERY much appreciated. Ill post the address and room number below. Hopefully our Christmas Miracle has come a little early this year! Thank you so much for your prayers, love, and support.
