UPDATE: Sherry Lane/Brent Avenue Integrated Road, Sewer and Watermain Rehabilitation Project The City has completed design works for this project, including the 3 metre wide multi-use pathway in the Sherry Lane Park. Currently, the project is out for tender, with the closing date of August 14, 2014. There will be contract award process following the tender closure and it is expected to start the construction around mid September. The construction is scheduled to complete in fall 2015 with the possibility of finishing some activities and landscaping completed in spring 2016. The construction will take place in two phases. This fall, there will be construction along western leg of Sherry Lane (from Gary Avenue to Majestic Drive) and the contractor will resume the works in spring 2015 after half load restrictions are removed. For the duration of construction period, a temporary water service will be provided to the residents, with no effect on the quality of drinking water. Roads will be closed to through traffic, but will remain open to local residents along Sherry Lane, Brent Avenue and Cheryl Road within the project limits. For short duration where it is not possible for resident(s) to access their driveway(s), the City will provide a temporary on-street parking pass, allowing them to park on the street within two blocks of the construction site. Transit service on Majestic Drive will remain operational as per the regular schedule. Before the start of construction, a Public notice to all of the residents within the project limits will be delivered, along with contact information for the City’s on-site representative.
