So many of you wrote emails and called Delegates in response to HB 1475, dubbed the Natural Gas is GOOD bill, that it did NOT go to the committee last week, and lobbyists are scrambling to make the bill less controversial. KEEP IT UP! And if you havent yet contacted the Delegates on the relevant committee, below, PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL BEFORE TUESDAY, when it may go to the committee again. As one Delegate said I have been impressed with the overwhelming reaction to Delegate Wares HB1475. It really makes a difference. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ASK THAT THEY STRIP THE PUBLIC INTEREST CLAUSE from the bill. HB 1475 declares gas pipelines and associated infrastructure to be in the public interest (the key to invoke eminent domain) - no need to determine who ACTUALLY profits, or who is harmed.
