UPDATES! We made it to the historic meeting between the students and the govtt! 1. CY Leung said in an interview with the New York Times that allowing for true democracy would mean that the government would primarily serve the interests of the poor, and this must be prevented. (SHAME ON YOU!!!!) 2. The dialogue between the Federation of Students representatives and Government official took place. The Federation of Students challenged the government to take up the responsibility of responding to the peoples demands and questioned whether Beijings verdict on political reform is really impossible to be changed. The Government conceded by agreeing to submit a report to the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, which means that they will try to channel the views of the Hong Kong people to Beijing. This is clearly the first step of a greater victory for the students and the Umbrella Movement!
