Weve gotten this far because youve joined with many thousands nationwide to insist that the Senate must stop the harm to millions of jobless people and their families. However, Congress has extended unemployment insurance 12 times since the Great Depression, each time requiring technical changes that were as or more complex than the current extension. Unemployed workers are counting on those benefits and need the House to put the bill on the floor for a vote immediately after it passes the Senate.
