US & Europes foreign policy commitment to human rights stops at Israels door. Never mind mass administrative detentions, long term administrative detentions without charges or trial, torture, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Its all self-defense - though just maybe (at least in Europes case) just a bit excessive. Whats equally interesting is that for Arab states, making nice with Israel, even as it commits it vicious crimes against fellow Arabs, goes a long way towards balancing out their own human rights crimes. A trade-off Arab regimes are quite familiar with. The nicer you are to Israel, the less willing to stand up against Israeli atrocities, the more willing will the US and Europe to look the other way when you murder and torture you own people Guys, occasionally we might find your protestations of defending human rights marginally useful, but actually believe you? Get real!
