USAFA RANKED TOPS IN NATION IN ENGINEERING, LIBERAL ARTS U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force Academy is ranked among the top universities in the nation in engineering and liberal arts courses, in the U.S. News & World Report 2015 Best Colleges Rankings. The rankings were released today. The Air Force Academy was ranked the #5 Best Undergraduate Engineering Program. Several specific Academy engineering programs ranked among the tops in the nation among undergraduate universities. Those rankings are: • #2 Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering, for the 14th consecutive year. • #2 Computer Engineering • #3 Electrical Engineering • #6 Mechanical Engineering The Academy was also ranked at the #27 best Liberal Arts College in the nation, tied with Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, Penn. The Air Force Academy was also ranked as one of the Best Undergraduate Business Programs as well. We are thrilled at the continued, national recognition of our academic program. To receive recognition not only as a national liberal arts college but in our engineering and management programs, shows our commitment to a breadth of learning opportunities supported by a world-class faculty,” said Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost, Dean of the Faculty at the Academy. To be alongside the other military service academies in this list of incredible colleges highlights our commitment to a strong academic program that is woven tightly into our broad program of leadership and character development, he added. Our local partners, Colorado College and UCCS, have also received outstanding recognition in these rankings, and its great to see the city of Colorado Springs well-represented on the national stage. The Air Force Academy was also ranked #3 in the Top Public Schools, national liberal arts colleges ranking, and #3 in High School Counselor Rankings, each for the second straight year. The high school counselor ranking draws upon reputation among high school counselors across the nation, as U.S. News & World Report conducted a nationwide sampling of public high schools and large private independent schools, asking the counselor who they thought offered the best undergraduate education to their students. At the U.S. Air Force Academy, the student-faculty ratio is 8:1, average class size is 20, 100 percent of the faculty is full-time and zero classes are taught by teaching assistants.
