Uh oh spaghettio! Thanks for sharing this news worthy story New Caney ! I havent read the article yet but I certainly will! While this story is HOT, I should share with Jef Withonef, who writes for the HOUSTON PRESS. Maybe theyd be interested in another ongoing community story in East Montgomery County. Our local reporters sure didnt pick it up. Its just a little story that locals only THINK they know. The story involves a parking lot, two roads, an intersection, an elected Commissioner, an elected Constable, an unpaid volunteer constable who happens to own a local wrecker service business and a cupcake lady who personally turned to all three of them for their specific help with a very dangerous situation and got absolutely NO help whatsoever. Instead a certain clique of local people created a story of their own, cupcake lady hates wrecker drivers. Poor cupcake lady, she was not only treated like dirt, she was the gossip of the town, boycotts began by people who didnt even know what actually took place. Rumors were started which resulted in severe harrassment, vandalism and loss of sales. When I called our elected Constable in regards to his Constable placing a hostile call to the bakery cussing at me, he refused to help me file an official complaint. Our elected Constable said he couldnt do anything about it because the guy doesnt get paid, hes a volunteer Constable. Well I should hope he doesnt get paid since his company tows the majority of the vehicles for law enforcement in East Montgomery County. It just seems wrong (to me) for even an unpaid volunteer Constables wrecker business to benefit $$$ from law enforcement tows especially when chips arent always thrown in a hat. I was quite impressed with the decor of his wrecker service business though. If youve never gone inside, you should, its unlike ANY wrecker service location Ive ever seen, its like a man cave! Just when I didnt think it could get much worse, it did. I personally turned to our elected Commissioner for much needed road repairs, road striping and a left hand turn lane, all of which would greatly reduce the countless daily traffic violations that put safety at risk which would also halt damage to obviously unpaved private property by traffic code violators. Everyone can plainly see the cynder blocks placed in a line (like curbs) in the parking lot. Many have been run over so many times they are now cynder rocks, not cynder blocks anymore. That was just one of MANY attempts to protect the public on that corner. There used to be 3 neon yellow plastic men Children at Play 3 feet tall, that we would pick up daily and return them to an upright position from vehicles hitting them. After just a few months, one by one they couldnt be fixed anymore, no more yellow men to protect children. Our Commissioner politely said to my face in Brookshire Brothers that he would come take a look at it, maybe get some cupcakes. He then said maybe he could put some curbs out there. I foolishly believed him based on his position alone. He never meant those words, he just spoke them. A few months later I called him for an update. When asked he said hed been out there 5 times already. I never saw him or anyone from the county once, even though Im present during all daylight hours. He went on to say hed have to get with the state about the light signal since road repairs by his department would trigger it. I was pleased that he planned to get with the state about it. When asked about the curbs he had mentioned previously he then said he couldnt do such a thing on private property. THEN WHY MENTION IT TO ME AS A SOLUTION? I was finished talking to the man at the top. I typed a work order request via East Montgomery County Commissioners website but I never got a reply although I should have according to the site itself. Months passed before I posted photos of the huge pot holes with exposed wires. Still nothing. Eventually a loyal customer of ours called his office about the potholes (thats one of the things my work order request was for). The next day the county was out there fixing the potholes. She called and got immediate action. I thanked her and jokingly said my last name wasnt Hayden. For whatever reason the county didnt fix all of the pot holes that day I dont understand. Specifically the potholes located in the makeshift right hand lane Thats my story and Im sticking to it.
