Unbeaten Saints host Peterhouse Action in the Schools Super 8 - TopicsExpress

Unbeaten Saints host Peterhouse Action in the Schools Super 8 league continues Saturday with unbeaten St George’s College hosting Marondera giants Peterhouse. The Dragons are riding high following their confidence boosting 42-18 demolition of bitter rivals Prince Edward last weekend and they will be hoping their mobile pack of forwards set stage and supply clean ball to their pacey backline. Peterhouse, coached by former Scotland international Scott Gray, are also on a roll and have only lost one match in 2013, to their opponents. The men from Marondera have a well-balanced team that has the ability to ask lots of questions of the opposition’s defence. They have a number of big, powerful ball-carriers in the pack, most notably their skipper and flank Daniel Moolman as well as elusive prop Tapiwa Muringani. The front row battle between Muringani and Saints prop Thabani Mujeni is poised to be an exciting one. Malcolm Maparura has been a revelation at inside centre and has been the catalyst for most of Peterhouse’s attacking play. Never to be outdone is Zimbabwe Schools Select fullback Brendon Mandivenga – who has the size, speed and ability to attack from anywhere on the park. With both teams tending to use forwards play a lot, the side that can dominate set pieces is likely to emerge victorious. In other Super 8 matches lined-up this weekend, Churchill’s Bulldogs are on the road this weekend for a date with Falcon College at Esgodini. The Matabeleland side are desperate for a win to keep their title aspirations alive. Prince Edward – who are still smarting from the humiliating defeat to Saints last Saturday – will be looking to bounce back when they host in-form St John’s College on Jubilee Field. Winless Kyle College lock horns with Bulawayo outfit Christians Brothers College in a bottom-of-the-table clash.
