What do you think of Pope Francis’ comments Monday that evolution and the Big Bang are real? A. Of course evolution and a divine creator are not at odds with each other. Pope Francis is just repeating something that Catholic tradition has always taught. B. I am shocked that the pope said this. To me it goes against all that is taught in the Bible. C. It seems silly to accept that evolution and the Big Bang theory is real and still believe that God created the Earth. It is like hanging on to an outdated superstition. D. I am glad Pope Francis is emphasizing that belief in God can be approached from a rational and scientific origin. That science and faith are not incompatible needs to be emphasized more often! E. The pope’s comments are hopefully a big breakthrough for religious people who think intelligent design should be taught in schools. It is time to admit evolution is real.
