Understand. I have been an outsider my entire life. From a little boy, I was the outsider of my nuclear family. In and out of 100 foster homes by the time I was 13. I remained an outsider (to an extent) in my new family. As a Five Percenter, I (and those with whom I rolled) were the outsiders. In my journey within my Nation of Islam from the beginning ill today I have been looked upon and treated as an outsider. In the professional Academy I am an outsider, as an Africa-centered scholar I am an outsider. This is all GOOD. Why? Because my life gave me the necessary preparation to do what I am doing. See, my WHOLE LIFE I have been Standing on my Square regardless to whom or what. Losing friends or failing to gain friends was never a tear-jerker for me.
