Unfortunately, our woodlots Ash trees have been infected with the Emerald Ash Borer and most are in the process of dying. The pictures show what used to be a healthy big Ash tree, approx 25 meters tall. Today I cut this tree down and cut it up for firewood. The last picture shows the Ash in the pile on the left, with some on the top of the older pile (lighter colour). Lots of firewood! This was done in about 3.5 hours this afternoon. As we have many more Ash trees in our woodlot, well have lots of firewood for the next few years.
