Unknowingly taking others’ rights Thoughts like looking for a new workplace, getting a moped or just staying at the school’s accommodation always struck me every time I take my 6 amazing rides in 2-3 hours to school (vice versa) every single day. This story is solely related to travel thingy but I won’t be talking about my regrets every time I get on each ride LOL. So there’s this favorite seat where I always choose to settle myself on every afternoon when I reach the bus 189 terminal (my last ride everyday). No, it’s not what you’re thinking, It’s next to that. Because I find it uncomfortable to change seats, given the possibility of a monk getting on the bus, so I chose the bench right next to it as my favorite spot. Yes, there’s nothing wrong with having a favorite site on the bus, but it’s not the real deal anyway. The thing is, there’s this person (old guy), who arrives (most of the days) after I do, who always make me feel uneasy the moment he gets on cause he would surely stare at me like I did something bad and he would act like he is looking for a better place to sat on, and after struggling (in obvious ways), he would then sit at the exact opposite of the bench that I chose and would later slant his body, facing directly where I was at, and would stare at me for the rest of the waiting time. Id be relieved every time the bus starts running and/or during the bus conductors collection cause that would be the time he would stop gazing at my seat (so it’s worse when riding a free bus). It happened for months, until last week when I noticed something. Regularly, every morning, I also ride the same bus (bus 189) if I forgot to tell you that. One morning, he was already there when I got on and poof! he’s at the exact spot (my favorite spot), while I stood, cause of morning rush. The trip went on. He stood upon reaching his bus stop and as he was approaching the door, I noticed him walking differently. Confirmed, he has impaired legs, which I think only gets worse every morning cause I barely notice it every afternoon. Then I recalled a week ago, when I became curious about the stickers on the upper corner of some bus windows, I surely saw the sticker sign for disabled people that time on the window glass beside my seat. Uh-oh, then I realized how stupid I was, the whole time. Just this week, when the same cycle took place, I chose to give him a twist as I change seats immediately every time I see him coming. I really noticed how happy he was, especially yesterday, when he caught me (in the act) transferring at the back LOL. Before I forget, in this country, if you ride a bus, one of the single seats opposite to the door should be for the pregnant/s and old people, the seat next to the door going rear is special for the monks (and nuns), then next to that is for people with disabilities. I hope you got something. And I regret what I did. -end p.s. I’ll find time to provide some photos of the real scenario so everyone can relate. Oh, I don’t know which spot exactly is specially designed for people with kids. [first story]
