Update 8/29/14...We got David Fish to the hospital at 6am on Thursday morning...they took him back for prep and surgery at 7:30....I was in the waiting room with our daughter Kaitlyn, Donna McBride, Chris Hastings, Linda Sekerak and Pastor Don Poest.... The Dr. came to us at 1PM and was very pleased with outcome....he had to do some damage control from previous operations and remove scar tissue....he said it was very delicate and an intricate surgery....when he removed scar tissue he was able to locate the end of his rectum that was tucked away....when he found that it was very healthy! Then onto locate how much colon was available for reconnect....there was enough! Praise God! (that was one of the doctors biggest concerns because so much was taken off previously).....then onto the stoma where he was able to reconnect that....said it was very healthy and that David and I did a nice job of keeping the exposed part clean....whew! Sooooo no bag..Yay Then the Hernia Dr came in to do her part...she removed part of the hernia..patched the other part....(again very delicate area)....she was able to put Davids skin back together with staples....so no skin graft...and he has a belly button (which really bothered him that he had none..that was taken away at last surgery)..she stapled him temporarily with metal staples, just in case of infection, which is common, she can pop a few staples to get to it.....she came to us and said that things went smoothly and that she was well pleased! Praise God! All in all from start to finish it was 10 1/2 hours... We need your continued prayers for recovery...Dr said that with all these parts not being together in over a year...that they need to start Jelling soon...and that the bowels that havent worked in over a year..e alive! Pray for recovery in the next few weeks and months because the abdominal walls are all new and need to get strengthened which can take quite a few months...was told to take his time on this.....David told me he cant wait to tie his own shoes again ;) and... as David would say...all Humpty Dumpty is put back together again.... We are very Thankful for all your prayers and well wishes...we are faithful people with a Mighty God who has certainly blessed this Mihuta family with such great family and friends as yourselves.... we are excited for this new Journey for him....believe me! We love you all!
