Update from Mommy: Kiki will be going in tomorrow morning at 730 - TopicsExpress

Update from Mommy: Kiki will be going in tomorrow morning at 730 for X rays and possibly exploratory surgery. If they find anything on the X rays, they will be taking her in for surgery (rather than the exploratory procedure) to repair/remove what is causing her to be so sick. Her vomiting has continued and while we have been waiting on a call that someone has canceled and they could get Kiki in sooner than the 15th, its now become a more serious concern and must be done tomorrow. Kiki is on medication to try to stop/ease the vomiting. Unfortunately its not working how we hoped it would. She has eaten boiled chicken breast and as of right now has kept it down. We have been feeding her 2 or 3 small bites at a time, slowly with hopes that will help. As of now she has lost a little over 2 pounds since she first became sick. The growths may or may not be removed tomorrow. Per the vet, it depends on whether or not Kiki is well enough. Through this process we have been in contact with 4 Paws and cannot thank them enough for their support as well as the support and prayers Kiki and our family is receiving. Savanna is staying with her Grandma and Grandaddy while we are helping Kiki get better. No, its not the most ideal situation and in a perfect world would not be the case, but we were watching our daughter hurt for her BFF and we couldnt stand to see it. Yes, Savanna will know all that is happening (once we know), but the constant vomiting is way too much for her. We know how much our heart is breaking to see Kiki like this and as most parents do, would like to keep Savanna from seeing all of it. :-( The bond that Savanna and Kiki have is strong and we can tell Kiki misses her girl just as much as Savanna misses her. Kiki lays on a little pile of clothes on Savannas bedroom floor. Yes, they need to be washed but I just cant bring myself to do it :-) Kiki has been wonderful for our family and especially for Savanna. Kiki has opened our eyes to an entirely new world in more ways than one. Kiki has pre alerted to things we never could have imagined to be a seizure only to have Savannas neurologist confirm that they are indeed seizures. Savanna has continued to be seizure free since her last medication increase. Kiki amazes us everyday and although there are people out there in every profession and walks of life who doubt her abilities or discount the ability of any other service animal, we know the positive and life changing things they are capable of. Thank you to each and every one of you who are keeping up with our girls, sending thoughtful messages/emails, for your concern, Facebook posts and prayers. We will update everyone with any news we get.
