Update on my Lexi girl- for those of you that dont know, she went blind 3 years ago this month. Her blood pressure had gone sky high and it made the retinas start to detach. She has a cataract in her left eye and it doesnt respond to light stimulus. The right eye still has enough attachment that it responds to light, she tends to turn her head to the right when walking around, but she runs into a lot of stuff! Needless to say, I dont rearrange the furniture and she has adapted really well. She jumps up and down off the couch and my bed. This morning however, she chose not to get up when I did and I was in the kitchen making coffee when I heard this loud racket from the bedroom proceeded by her sauntering down the hall to the kitchen. I was in and out today but when I got home from SAMs club she was limping really bad and was swollen at the front right shoulder area. Took her to the vet, and thank goodness no X-rays were required! She damaged the tendon and is on bed rest! Even though shes blind she follows me everywhere!!! So, I get to carry her up and down the stairs every time she has to potty, and the portable baby crib will be her home when I am up moving around! I am so happy I walked out of there paying only $50 as opposed to $250^
