Update on tonights racing from Bear Creek Raceway. Please read the entire post so you can at least say you heard it here first and that Moncus Motorsports has nothing to hide. Michael won both the feature and the money race tonight after driving in my opinion two of his best races all season. However, during inspection after the money race one of the springs in the new motor was found to be slightly stiffer than the spec so Michael had to forfeit both wins, all money and all points tonight. None of that bothered my brother, what will bother him is he has never ran illegal in his career and I want you to know how he came to this position tonight. Michael purchased a motor along with two other fellow competitors and installed it on his kart. He has only changed the oil in the motor and added gas. Lesson here is get your springs checked by a track official before you run the engine. The stiffer spring, especially as minimal as it was, would not have affected the outcome of either race. I hope you hold your head high little Bro, you drove two great races tonight. I also want people to know that I and several others have kidded with Michael about even running 89 octane to boost his kart and he has ALWAYS gotten very defensive on that subject and said we dont cheat, we run fair or not at all. I know you always have and I believe the competitors who truly know you know you have always ran legal. Its just in the rule book and thats what we follow. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get the word out about tonights events before all the rumors start. Michael will personally speak with the engine builder and make sure the springs are even lower than required because again, this would not have changed his kart enough to show how hard he was driving tonight. Proud of you brother and so glad we were always raised right to be honest. So glad you have not wondered off that path. Now get Clyde put back together and lets get em in three weeks.
