Update received from Tim Flack, who is coordinating relief for the Lwandle/Nomzamo shack dwellers whose homes were demolished: Hi all - Heres an update on Nomzamo. Sorry, Ive been so busy with directing blankets and foodstuffs. The people have been put up in a community hall in Strand, blankets are being delivered and medicine is being organised for those who are sick. The Minister of Transport is letting the people rebuild on the land until a permanent solution is found. Thanks so much for all your help and assistance. Much appreciated. Regards Tim Flack The Methodist Church in Lwandle has posted a message: What seems to be most needed at the moment is baby nappies and formula, basics like coffee, tea, sugar, milk etc. Then of course warm clothes and blankets as the hall is very cold. While people have been issued with two blankets each, these are very thin. Contributions may be dropped off at: Tim Flack at 25 Klein Plasie, Hibiscus Avenue, Gordons Bay, Cell No 060 605 4562 or The Bookery, Ground Floor Plein Park, Plein Street, Cape Town 021 461 4189.
