Using do-it-yourself tax filing software does not mean you no longer need the support of your accountant. Software for do-it-yourself bookkeeping, photography, drafting, publishing, music, investing, tax filing and many other purposes is readily available at any store that sells software. Developers emphasize the ease-of-use for individuals and small businesses as part of their marketing strategy. However, ease-of use does not mean that all users are equal. A hammer is also easy to use but that does not make every user is a carpenter.
