Ustinov B 1- 0 Trevelyan C (25/10/2014) Cano 55’ After a disappointing cup defeat, Ustinov B bounced back to maintain their 100% league record and register another clean sheet. The highly anticipated return of Brazilian play-maker Renan Petersen-Wagner ended in disappointment as he was forced off with a groin injury after only 10 minutes. This was the only negative of an accomplished first half. Ustinov were largely in control of game and produced flowing attacking football that was balanced with solid defensive work. The centre-back partnership of Martin and Hölck allowed the Gill to roam forward and support Underwood on the left wing. Rober went close on two occasions but failed to fully connect with either header and a free kick by Cano was pushed away by the Trevelyan defense. Apart from a tactical handball by Gutiérrez, which the Trevelyan vehemently protested about, the pink defense was not tested. The second half started brightly for Ustinov as they looked to pressure the Trevelyan back four. Their effort was rewarded as Cano beautifully controlled a Gutiérrez throw on the right side of the area and rocketed the ball into the top left hand corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. Leading the line in his debut for Ustinov, Curry was unfortunate not to be rewarded with a goal for his relentless attacking performance. In a frantic 15 minutes the challenges became wilder and more reckless. As Trevelyan pushed for an equalizer, Ustinov nearly caught them on them break. The 1-0 lead would have been extended but Underwood, with his ambitious efforts, and Kannil, in his first appearance, we unlucky not to hit the target. Man of the Match, sponsored by Wine Gums, was awarded to the referee for spotting the Trevelyan’s striker hand ball in the box and letting so many dubious challenges go unpunished. “We did well to hold on for the win. We are improving every game and with the excellent players we have in this team we should be challenging for promotion.” (Asahi Cano) Line up & Substitutions Lotay Gill Hölck Martin Gutiérrez (Kannil – 65’) Moreira Cano Petersen-Wagner (Underwood – 10’) Rchin (Tobón – 60’) Akeel Curry
