PROJECT DESCRIPTION IN JORDAN HI will implement his emergency mechanism (disability and vulnerability focal point) in order to target the most vulnerable persons who have a lack of access to the humanitarian intervention and to re establish this access through direct provision of service or referral. HI is intervening in the northern area since May 2012 and is willing to up sacle its intervention. Multidisciplinary team will be deployed in order to target the most vulnerable affected groups, among them, the injured persons and the persons with disability. A comprehensive intervention will be implemented to cover their specific needs and to improve their capacity to cope with the situation. HI intervention aims to contribute to mitigate the impact of the crisis on the most vulnerable people by responding to their basic and specific needs (directly or through referral/channeling) Handicap International is supporting: Injured person, unaccompanied elderly, Elderly as caretakers for minors, People needing urgent rehabilitation, Persons with disability, other vulnerable persons (discretionary) Services: All of the affected person that will be referred to our team will be assessed and according to their needs will receive: Direct services: Physical rehabilitation sessions, Family counselling / education about supporting someone through the recovery process or with permanent disability, Provision of mobility and assistive devices, provision of dedicated NFI, Provision of prosthesis and or theses Indirect services via referrals according to the needs identified. POSITION Based in AMMAN under the direct responsibility of the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Officer will be in charge of logistical support to HI activities in North Jordan and the follow up of all HI procedures, with regular movement to the HI bases. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES 1 Stock / supply: • Responsible of coordinate with all bases to ensure the reconciliation of all documents regarding “good supply for materials needed by the projects team and reconciliations” • Responsible to ensure internal logistics reports are submitted on time and that they are reviewed and analysed and appropriate action taken. • Contribute to the development and adaptation of the stored and movements of items according to the activities. • Ensure that’s good are identified all long of movements from main stock to different places with HI procurements “procedures and policies”. • Ensure the adequate filling of all documents files, the respect of Handicap-International procurement. • Ensure the centralization of needs for Amman / Mafraq / Irbid bases with weekly and Monthly logistic reconciliation rapport. • Take the responsibility of the main “Stock” in Amman. • Ensure regular physical control. • Ensure the follow-up of contract and result of carrier “price, delays, documents....” 2 HR management / reporting • Support the Logistics Manager for the logistics team management • Contribute to the follow up and training of the logistics team • Improve processes (planning, tracking…) and ensure their application • Provide to the Logistics Manager regular activity reports and forecast • Ensure any required training for Storekeeper, Hi principles, procurements… 3 Security • Keep awake of the security situation in and around our working area • Report any incident or information that may affect activities and movements to the Logistics Manager • Ensure the implementations of Handicap-International security rules. • Report in collaboration with the fleet officer on the map selected road, point of interest, check point… THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Experience: At least three years of experience working with an NGO or similar position in private sector At least Two years of experience in managing a team Diploma: Degree in Logistics, Skills Good communication, listening skills, common sense Proactive, dynamism, high level of motivation Adaptation to specific working conditions, capacity to work in team and autonomously Honest and transparent Excellent command of written and spoken English Excellent word and data processing skills (Word, Excel, etc) CONTRACT CONDITIONS HI offers fixed-term contract, extendable regarding to the activities implemented by HI in the country and depending on the donors’ contracts. The position is based in Amman for a starting date as soon as possible. The salary will be defined regarding the HI salary scale on-going.
