VACANCY FOR MIGRATION ASSISTANT Embassy of Sweden in Ankara is recruiting a migration assistant RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION The Assistant would, under the supervision of the Head of Migration Section, have joint responsibility for; Responding to questions regarding migration and consular matters from individuals and authorities, including, but not limited to, telephone and e-mail inquiries relating to visa requirements; Receiving, reviewing and registering applications for residence- and work; Performing document verification controls; Preparing applications with necessary translations and explanations in order to facilitate decision making; Registering and filing cases and documents; Assisting with interpretation and translations; Hand out residence permit cards and passports; Interviewing applicants for residence and work permits; QUALIFICATIONS University degree in social/political science, economics, law, development studies and/or similar; Relevant experience and knowledge in the field of public administration; Good computer skills; Ability to acquire new knowledge and use it at work; Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to relate to government and international institutions; Ability to communicate and cooperate easily with colleagues; Ability to take initiative and work independently; Outgoing, quick and able to handle stress well; Fluency in oral and written English and Turkish; Fluency in Arabic is an advantage. Terms and conditions The vacancy is for a full-time, temporary employment position, until February 28, 2014, with the possibility of prolongation. An individual salary system is applied.
