VICTORY SPEECH From the PREMIER people of Mellanby hall To the FAMOUS people in Tedder hall The GREAT men of Kuti hall The NOBLE people of Bello hall The OUTSTANDING Katangites of Indy hall The QUALITY men of Zik hall The BEAUTIFUL damsels of Queens hall My MAGNANIMOUS sisters of Awo hall The COURAGEOUS ladies of Idia hall (you gave me home away from home) Not forgetting the MEDICAL to be in ABH The Postgraduates in PG hall and Balewa I really want to use this medium to appreciate the support of everyone. The election is over, but the lessons in it are learnt properly. I must confess, this has made me to be a better person with refined view of life, and have learnt more than I can ever imagine had I not contested. Its been a honour to meet so many people, share my ideas and vision with you. Disagree to agree many a while, toured the length and width of UI, gotten to places I had never envisaged getting to. Most importantly, building my public speaking ability, increasing my self confidence, human relations and moulding me to be a better person. Thank you all for finding it worthwhile talking to me. From the electorates to the electoral committee, even to the observers (physical or virtual), thank you all. For me, I did not see the election as a do-or-die affair, rather an experience and a lifetime opportunity. Adebimpe cant contest for Vice President of University of Ibadan SU again, but I can still impact many lives positively to the best of my ability. I saw the process as a ride, and ever since the word go and lo and behold, yours truly enjoyed it to the fullest. But, I also need to say this for future elections, the whole process would had been more interesting if it was devoid of smear campaign. In anyways, I have forgiven all those that said unprintable things about me, just as I want God almighty to forgive me and you of all our sins (conscious and unconscious sins). To my campaign crew, and those that found me worthy to cast their votes for, we are all champions and we still have a lot to do together and I say a very big Thank you to you all. Also, I want to appreciate all the 22 aspirants, especially the eventual winners, but most especially Miss Chidinma Akpa Phebby whom we both found the office of the Vice President attractive and agreed to compete for. I pray that the team that would be led by Huntersola would achieve more than they would even plan for, and our Union shall rise again to a height where other schools would be jealous of. This is Bimpe Oyeneye Wosilat #BOW A politician in the making signing out.
