VISION AND EXPECTATION You can have several people look at a painting and each will have a different interpretation of what the artist was trying to depict to the viewer. This is especially true of the more abstract of artist. No one really knows what the artist was trying to convey unless they know the artist on a personal basis. So it is with us, the vision we have for our life is dependent on who we allow to be the artist in our lives. 1 Corinthians 2:11-12 NLT No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. I know this truth because I am an artist. When painting a picture I know what I am trying to convey. When we were children our parents were the artist in our lives. When we grow older the brush is put into our hands. We may have pictured our life to be better than what it is right now. Our expectations have turned into disappointments. We can look at our lives and it also is abstract, not clear, not what we want it to look like. Salvation is about giving our brushes to a far better artist. I gave up my brush a long time ago, and we all need to do so too. We will love the painting God has for our life if we give Him the brush. It will exceed our expectations.
